wireless keyboard acting up

my wireless keyboard is doing odd things:
delete button gives blip sound never did before /star icon flashes on screen at 'blip'

space bar gives =/ instead of space

the 'p' key turns on the cap lock

Let's start simple - check to see if you're still set to use the appropriate keyboard. Head on over to System Preferences > Language & Text > Input Sources and make sure you're set to use the right keyboard.

keyboard seems to be set correctly = to wireless keyboard

found problem-after buying new keyboard of course. Turns out the Num Loc feature had gotten turned on somehow and only needed to hit the F6 button to fix
