Using a 1 GHZ Power Mac G4-
Have 40 gigs on an 80 gig HD-
Have 2 gigs on board-
Installed Leopard with no problems- Restarted and all I get on screen is the apple logo and the spinning gear-
Rebooted from disk and ran Disk Utility's first aid, HD fine-
exited-
chose start up disk-
chose OS 10.5 on HD-
restarted and got the same apple logo and spinning gear-
restarted using these methods below and got the same response-
D key- force the boot device to be the internal hard drive-
Option key- choose startup disk at boot time-
X key- force boot into Mac OS X (older Macs that dual-boot into OS 9 and X)
Shift key- hold after power-up to boot into safe mode-
I can however boot into "Classic" and see all my files on 10.4.11 but I can't open anything and that also goes for anything on Classic-
Please Help!

If you just reinstalled the OS...how did you forget your log-in name & password so quickly??

On the other hand...did you actually create a username and/or a password?...cause if you didn't...then leave those field(s) blank.

If all else fails...guess you got to reinstall the OS one more time...and this time...write down the username & pw!:)

??? I didn't read that the password was forgotten.

Does leaving the login info blank work?

no it doesn't- I can't understand why It won't let me log in? You were right about re-installing, I thought I was home free when the sign on screen popped up- When I try signing on it takes 15 seconds before login is denied- It's almost like its thinking but nothing happens-
