Hello,

I am going to be putting a 120GB SSD (Mac OS X) and a 500GB HDD (Media) in my Late 2009 MacBook Pro. I will be using the MaxUpgrades kit to replace the optical drive with a bracket for a second drive. The question I have is: What drive do I put in the bracket? I have heard the HDD should go in the HDD bay for shock protection and the SSD in the optical bay. However, I have also heard that the startup disk (SSD) should go in the HDD bay or you will have sleep/hibernate issues.

I'm trying to figure out the best setup. Can you guys help me out?

The 2009 model may work better with the startup disk in the HDD bay. I think 2010 and newer will work fine with it in either location, but earlier has the mentioned sleep issues.
