Beautiful PB g4 17" 1.67 PPC
Hey all,

So my otherwise beautiful Powerbook G4 17" 1.67gtz. has an issue with the display hinges. If flopped on the couch with my knees pulled up and the computer on my lap the display wants to fall forward and slam shut pretty easily. Normally this is not an issue but due to a back injury I have to take it easy for a while. Before I go ripping into this thing at see if I can tighten the hinges I thought I would ask if it's even possible. Anyone know?

Thanks

This is really quite common, and no, I've never seen a laptop hinge that can be adjusted. You usually just have to replace them.

Parts and instructions should be available on either iFixit.com or Powerbookmedic.com.

Hey thanks for the tip. My plan was to check it out really quickly and post back. I've been stuck over there for over two and a half hours! Great site, thanks!
