I have an older silver MacBook Pro (17" purchased in 2006). I can provide more details such as video card, processor, etc once I get home from work.

I recently purchased an RCA TV 39" Class - LCD - 1080p - 60Hz - HDTV
Model: 39LB45RQ SKU: 5395953

I am connecting my MBP to the RCA via DVI to HDMI with the following:
BlueRigger High Speed HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable
Amazon.com: BlueRigger High Speed HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable (6.6 Feet/ 2 Meters): Electronics

When I connect the two devices I click on

detect device
select the 1080 60hz
select mirror.

The video is projected on the TV just fine, then it will cut out and bring a message that says something like: "Signal Lost."

Why is this happening?
I purchased this TV one week ago.
I purchased the cable two days ago.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Geoffrey

Your Mac's Specs
mbp 15 2009, mbp 13 2010
is the cable at fault or connection is loose ? make sure you tighten the connection. if still has problem
then get another cable and try it.
