Hi, Having purchased a Mac Mini, I'm now faced with the problem of having no CD burner.:\

Would someone be so kind as to recommend a good one that wont leave me wondering whats wrong with it when I put in The Dubliners CD;)

Thanks

Hi there.

Generally, most external USB optical drives will work with your Mac. It's all down to you what brand you go with.

If I'm not mistaken, that's designed specifically for the Air. In fact, I think I've read comments that it doesn't work quite right with other models.

From that link:
Compact and convenient, the MacBook Air SuperDrive connects to your MacBook Air computer or Mac mini

I have the MacBook Air SuperDrive on my MacMini and use it quite a bit both for burning off stuff and reading. No issues at all. Plug it in and start using it.

OK, I stand corrected. I know that when the MacBook Air first came out, there were some difficulties with other Mac model owners trying to use that drive. Apparently Apple must have worked it out.

It only works with the MBAir and the MacMini, it does not work with the MacBook Pro or iMacs (without a hack in the Terminal)
