Hello:

I have seen good videos and documentation for opening up a Macbook Pro unibody to clean the fan, but I have a Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo (2007 or 2008 I believe) and I would like to clean the fan. Can someone point me to a good link that shows the correct screws to remove, screwdriver type required etc.?

Thanks!

Also, do note that when you go to clean the fans, it's very important to hold the fans still so as to not overspin them.

You also need to spray in short bursts as holding the trigger will produce condensation, which can be a very bad thing.

I used the ifixit document to take apart and clean my Macbook Pro. Instead of compressed air however I recommend a vacuum. The process of taking it apart is very straightforward and well worth it. If possible, I would repaste the diodes on the motherboard with new thermal grease. Reason being the stock Apple compound is horrible. I just recently repasted mine and I saw a 20C drop on idle temps as well as load. I can finally have it on my lap without suffering 3rd degree burns lol.
