Basically I bought an iMac last October, 21", 4GB standard manufactured settings ram etc. After a few weeks every time I quit an application and go back on it, it returns to its old settings. Whenever I remove a bookmark from the toolbar on Safari and restart it, it returns to the old settings, when ever I restart the computer the dock and background changes towards its original settings. This is starting to get really annoying, and I don't know what to do and I have installed all available updates. Is an issue like this covered in a warranty and do you guys have any ideas on what I should do?

Try repairing permissions for your Hard Drive in Disk Utility. This is only me guessing though, quite possibly a more experienced member will have seen this before and knows the solution.

Just to rule it out are you logging into the Guest account rather than a regular one?

Download the 10.7.4 Combo Update from Apple install and see if that makes a difference. I still dont trust the system updates via Software Update as i have had similar problems in the past and dl the Combo Update usually fixes the problem..

Report back andd welcome to the forums.

Cheers

Edit ~ LMAO at Slydude's editing reason ;P
