Need some help here.
I have a iPhone 4s and a iPad first generation. I am currently using a Linksys router. Both devices see the router and connect. I bought a Mac Extreme base station and both devices "see" it, however, when I try to connect via the "Set up an Airport Base Station" I get the message" The Airport Extreme named "Base Station cannot be set up by this software"
I get this message fron my iPhone and iPad.
Next I downloaded the app "Airport Utility"
I get the green dot indicating I am connected to the internet but get the message "No Airport base stations have beed found"
This is again on both units.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue?
Thanks

That's correct, I think. You need a Mac or PC to set up an Airport Extreme using Airport Utility.

Once set up, of course, the computer is usually unneeded for that purpose again for years on end.
