I have around 3000 folders with names assigned to them already.
I need to change the name for all the folders...Not a simple change in the name..mostly the complete name will change.

Say for Ex:-
Current folder :- XYZ
New folder ABC

Current folder AAA
New folder BAB

Note:- I have listed all the current folder names and the corresponding new folder names in a excel sheet side by side...

Would appreciate any help in automating this rename process

Im using a OSX Lion.

i just googled "mac batch rename folders", it looks like there could be a number of options for you, one of which is Automator, pre-installed on my macbook at least.

Thanks joinerbuilder

I did searched for this action and couldn't find anything.
The Automator has plenty of options to rename the files in a certain way...like adding date
Or adding specific word...or adding numbers etc.....

But my requirement is quite different..I have a list of the names and want to reassign as per the list

Any suggestions would really help.
