Fan Stays on all the time

Late 2011 15 in MBP, 2.2 i7, 8 GB RAM; iPhone 4; iPad 2 16GB, AT&T
Have a 5 month old MBP and the fan has started to come on all the time even when starting from sleep mode and drain the battery. Any suggestions other than taking it in for service

What kinds of surfaces are you using it on? Make sure it's on a hard and flat surface - the notebook needs to "breathe" and soft surfaces such as laps, couches and beds prevent this from happening efficiently.
