Yeah, I've been waiting for Google Earth for Mac, too.
I was starting to think they'd pass us by!

Excellent news, I look forward to its release to the general public.

In the meantime, this gives the satellite images from Google Maps a neat interface:

Please Ben, are you seriously kidding me?

The link was removed from your post. Don't try to post warez or other illegal downloads again, I would have thought you'd know better...

Is it really illegal?
The OS X Google Earth version is basically the same as the free Windows version - it's just still in development...
If anything I think Google might appreciate feedback from experienced users?

Considering it's not publicly released, it could be considered illegal, it could be violation of trade secrets. If Google really wanted user input at this point they're release the beta themselves.

Either way it's bad form and bad precedent and something we will not condone here. It's unreleased software, that alone is enough to know it's not right to distribute.

Good point - Google is usually fairly quick to release public beta's...

Just wondering :)

This is a really neat program. I an just glad to see it coming to Mac because folks like us would reallt appreciate it. So some advice to all you code writers out there- always port to Mac because we love our computers and it would help us to convince more people to switch from those other guys.

If ypou are really into this kind of satellite imagery and so forth, one prohgram which I purchased a couple of weeks back is not to be without:

MacKiev's 3D Weather Globe and Atlas.

http://www.mackiev.com/3d_globe.html

I have to stop myself firing it up as I literally can sit there from dawn to dusk playing, it's incredibly fun and interesting (I'm into my geography, that's why I did a degree on it).

So if you like Google Earth, zooming down on the places you visited, check out 3D Weather Atlas, it's superb...

In the meantime, I have to read...

Please don't envy me ;) (Actually I do find it interesting, in a sad kind of way hehe)
