Hey,
Im new to mac and want to start recording live acoustic audio/video recordings of my band.

I have a HD camcorder and relevant mics. Im looking at (eventually) recording up to 5 channels (2 x vox, acoustic guitar, bass, cajon, etc).

I would like some suggestions as to what software i can use and also what outboard gear i can buy to get me started.
For example,
- for the audio, logic?
-what can you recommend for the video?

Im also aware i need to purchase an interface, which can you recommend?

Thanks

Hi D!

Yeah, Logic is fantastic and at the moment it's only costs about 150$ in the AppStore. For video I suppose that Final Cut Pro x is the right programm for you or just try iMovie first.

Concerning outboard gear my recommendation would depend on the budget you have. You can buy an audiointerface for 500$ or for 2000$....so....which way are you going to go?

Cheers and have a nice day!
