Using a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X version 10.7.3, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, memory 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3, Macintosh HD startup disk. Whatever half that means.

I've got 4 mysterious excel files stuck on my desktop (at least, they have an excel icon. The window that pops up calls them items). I can't open them, I can't move them, I can't delete them, I can't get any info about them. They showed up after I spent a while futzing around on an excel assignment. Screenshot attached.

Anybody got ideas about how to nix the suckers?

Command-drag to Trash?

Restart, then try to drag to Trash?
