Hello,

I'm trying to encorporate the MacBooks into our corporate network, so that access to our file servers is as seamless as possible.

I've setup a VPN, and I understand that it can automatically connect when I point to an address on the domain. This is what I'm trying to do, but it gets a bit tricky because it wants a domain name like vpn.domain.com to trigger the connection to VPN.

My network share is accessible via smb://192.168.1.102/sharedfolder/ , and I have an alias on the desktop that points to it...

Is there any way to get the VPN to automatically connect when I try to access that shared folder?

Closer than you think.
Your Mac's Specs
Performa 6116 2GBSCSI 8MB OS 7.5.3
In short, not that I can think of other than using an Automator workflow to Connect the VPN. But at that point just connect to the VPN manually.

I simply have my VPN's in the menu bar for quick access.
