iphone video on 'playback'

Hey all
I'm having a problem streaming a video taken on my iphone to my xbox. I'm using a macbook pro 2011 model with 'playback' software enabled. I have no problem streaming any other type of movie to the xbox but when I try to do one that was taken on my iphone it either makes the screen go black or the video is super stuttering but the audio is ok.....
does anyone have any ideas? Do I need to convert it because it's a .mov file?

Can you elaborate? What software are you using?

The software is called 'Playback' by Yazsoft.
Yazsoft Playback | Fast Streaming Media - Mac Osx Download Manager

All avi files work fine and so do quicktime movies recorded with the inbuilt mackbook camera.
But any movie from the iphone just doesnt work..

The particular software doesn't transcode - i.e. it doesn't change the video format in any way. So if the XBOX can't play the original file there's nothing you can do about it.

What you need is a DLNA server that supports transcoding like PS3Server (it works for XBOX too)
