HI,
I am using a Mac Book Pro 3.1
Intel Core 2 Duo
2.2 GHz
# of Processors 1
# of Cores 2

was running with Snow Leopard 10..6

Installed OX S Lion and the computer went to restart and install but cannot
it says the disk is damaged. I tried to repair in disk Utility but failed
It says to save files and folders and do an erase and then reinstall
How do I do a backup. I have not backed up my HD prior to install
Do not use Time machine
I can see my folders in Disk Utility but cannot get to see the burn button

When I start my computer the gray screen comes on and says install Mac OSX to set up click continue.

Help
What Do I do before trying to reinstall
Thanks
Rose

cannot think of doing back up, the main thing is to make your mbp work. If HD fails, it fails, not much you can do. All human made stuff tends to fail.
' the gray screen comes on and says install Mac OSX to set up click continue' may mean your hd is still good ? if not , get yourself a new hd and install the osx see how it works.
Get another hd, to back up your internal drive, this is the route to go.
Sorry to see your old data gone, let this be the last, always back up.
