printing issue with illustrator

hello, i am in os10.7.4 (lion) and suddenly i find that when i print from illustrator cs5 with my epson 1400, the drawing prints small - ie. scaled down to perhaps at least 50% of what it should be. the only new issue was a recent download of a new security update. up until then all was fine although the printer kept saying it was off line but by unplugging it from the computer and plugging it in again - it would print. any thoughts? my printer driver is up to date.

You didn't say - did you look through all the print dialog options? - the blue drop-down menu icons next to copies/pages/layouts, etc.
