I'm trying to upgrade my bash, and would like to delete all my bash 4.2 files (which won't run on my old PPC; downloaded the wrong ones).
I'm trying to get into the right directory so I can use rm safely. If I use "locate bash" in the shell, I get a long list, of course, which includes (among others) this path:
/Downloads/bash-4.2
But if I cd to /Downloads there are no bash-4.2 files listed there (not even if I use "ls -a").
I've also looked in /Downloads for specific users on the system. No bash-4.2 files there, either.
I must be looking in the wrong way. If you can see what I'm doing wrong, please let me know. Thanks.
