Connect Macbook white (2008) to Viewsonic monitor

Hey everyone I'm going to show a lot of pictures just to eliminate any unneeded questions I appreciate you're responses

So here is my issue how do I connect them?

I've been thinking buy this: Mini DVI to VGA Adapter for Apple MacBook, PowerBook, iMac

Connect with: 6 Feet 15 Pin VGA Male to Male M/M Video Cable for PC Monitor LCD

And that should solve it right?
