Hi, we used to be able to connect our MacBook Pro to our TV via the HDMI port.
A few days ago my husband took it into work to use for a presentation there, plugged it into some projector-control console type thing there (sorry, I don't have any further details of what it was), and now it no longer works at home - when we plug it in, the Mac's screen appears briefly on the TV but then flickers, scrambles and then disappears within a few seconds. It looks almost as if it's a faulty connection, but plugging another mac into the same lead works perfectly. Also, if we change the display settings to 480p resolution, it does work, but looks a bit weird.
This is a 13" 2011 MBP, 2.3GHz, Intel Core i5, 4GB memory, running Lion 10.7.3.
Any thoughts gratefully received. All backed up - do you think if we were to roll-back to pre all this it would fix it? If so, any help / tips on how to do it would also be great.
Thanks,
Ally
