ibook won't boot.

Hi, i have clone my g4 running 10.5 with firewire on my G3 and it's not working. The G3 won't boot what ever i try, after googling around i find out that the G3 does not match hardware requirement. Can anyone confirm the G3 not running in 10.5 ? i know it take 10.3 but it's a bit obsolete ....can it take 10.4 ?
