Hi there. I have a three month old 21" iMac. I have it plugged into an extension cord. I asked 3 apple people if this was OK to do, and everyone said no prob. My problem is when I run my hand along the metal parts of my screen, it is electric!! Like feels like its vibrating and buzzing..... today it actually shocked me and kind of hurt. I tried looking many places to see if this is normal, but it is not seemly so..... anyone know anything I don't??!

You have a shotty ground. Does this happen without the extension cord? If not, the cords the problem.

Besides the advice given by member "Dysfunction", use an UPS (uninterruptible power supply) with your iMac for best protection. Extension cords are generally not advisable to use with computers because of poor grounding or even reversed polarity.
