How to open just one file???

Hi!

I have in my desktop four .txt files

One I double click on one of them, the 4 files open.

How can I fix that?? I want open just the one I select

Your Mac's Specs
Way... way too many specs to list.
Close ALL files individually in text edit. Then close text edit.. then retry.

I deleted the recent files in text edit, seems to work now
