For 9 years I had a Performa 6400/180. I wanted to install a bit bigger hard drive from the original 1.6 GB drive. Long story short, I was able to find an original Apple 6 GB hard drive on ebay. The computer wouldn't start up after I put it in. I stripped it and discarded it thinking it was just too old.

I purchased a 6500/225 and it started up just fine. I went to put in the 6 GB drive and again it would not start up. It gives the familiar bong and I can hear the drive spinning but then it stops. Even after I removed it and replaced the drive that came with it, it would not start. I can not start up from CD either. I am desperate. Does anyone have any idea what caused this or how to fix it?
