Hi wanted to ask a question re host file. Say this form had issues, and i was to put into the host file www forum name, or 208. XXX.XXX is that safe?. Could a forum hack me, i know it sounds far fetched, but a forum i know isn't working properly they said to enter stuff into my host file so i could browse it properly. I just want to know that nobody from the forum can acess my PC, I use windows too. Would you feel ok doing it? or am i being a bit para?

I thought so too, not sure why they said enter www. Forum name, or 208. XXX in order to view the website. Just not sure how safe as i know nothing about host files seems odd.

Yes, this seems highly suspicious to me too.

I'm not willing to edit my host file to browse a forum!...so if they cant fix their issues, well i will keep away till they do. I go with gut feeling on this thanks
