Hello all,

Wondering if anybody could give me some advice.

I recently bought a new monitor and cable.

I am trying to output my 27" iMac to the new monitor via a direct DisplayPort to DVI cable (no adapter or anything), and it won't seem to detect the display.

I tried it on the girlfriends MacBook Pro to her monitor and the cable worked perfectly.

The monitor works fine, had it working on D-Sub and HDMI perfectly.

The iMacs DisplayPort works fine also, had this successfully outputting to a TV via D-Sub.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Stuart.

Edit: Resetting SMD and PRAM didn't work either.

Which 27" iMac do you have Stuart? The latest 27" iMac for example, has a Thunderbolt output video port which is not going to work with a direct cable connection.
