Macbook Pro - Third Party ssd

Hey guys, I just dropped a new samsung ssd drive into my 2011 macbook pro.. re-installed OS... it FLIES. Can't believe Apple ships these things with 5400 rpm drives in the first place.

Question: do I need to do anything further like TRIM, or any setting tweaks?

It is called budgeting. You pay for what you get. SSD and more memory = more cash up front. Ask Samsung that question about Trim.

There is no option to get a 7200 or ssd drive on a pro. with everything else high end, and a processor like that, why bother with a 5400 rpm. It's dogsh*t slow.

you have 11k posts under your belt, I wonder how many were useless as this one.

My MBPro has the 7200 RPM drive I ordered from Apple when I ordered the machine. It flies.

I have a 256 GB SSD in my MB Air and it also cooks along quite well.
