My laptop is running sluggishly and I need to delete some photos. I have flagged my favorite photos and want to delete all the others. When I click on the "photo" tab in iPhoto, all my photos appear, along with the flagged ones. Now, if I delete all the photos on the "photo" tab, will my flagged ones also get deleted? Thank you in advance.

First, make sure you have a backup of all your files, not just photos in iPhoto before deleting. Use Time Machine and an external hard drive to make the backup.

Your flagged photos should remain. (You can also delete the photos individually if you wish.) When deleting photos from within iPhoto they will be placed in the iPhoto Trash. You will then have to empty the iPhoto Trash before the space can be reclaimed.

But again, make sure you have a good backup before attempting to delete anything. :)

Your flagged photos should remain.

This is 100 percent incorrect. If a user selects ALL photos in the photos view, all photos will be deleted (moved to iPhoto trash). Flagged photos are not magically spared, not sure why you would think that.

chas is correct. By flagged I was assuming you had separated them. But obviously, flagged here means you selected them. By all means make sure you back up as I suggested before doing anything.
