Core portable hdd usb 3.0 120gb

Hi i just got this external memory drive, and im in desperate need to get it to work now. I can't seem to transfer data on to it
Can someone please tell me how to work it, does it work with a mac? is there anything i can do to make it work?

yeah it is a hard drive.
Sorry im not amazing with computers. What do you mean the non write icon? when i try to move things into it it has like that circle with aline through it, therefor obviously not allowing me to put anything in there....i think thats what you were talking about in the first place...

1. You wasted your money on getting a USB 3 drive. USB 3 isn't supported on Macs. It will just work as a USB 2 drive.

2. It's formatted NTFS. Macs can't write to NTFS without third-party software assistance.

3. Use Disk Utility to reformat the drive.
