Welcome to Mac-Forums

You don't do anything with .DS_STORE files, read more for details.

Is this virus checker identifying all DS Store files as infected? Those are common files that have been around the Mac for ages.

I agree - .DS_store files are found in every single folder and when deleted, they're recreated. What kind of scanner (of any sort) would think that a .DS_store file is a problem?

I know that most anti-virus software on a Windows machine when scanning a USB flash drive from a Mac will identify the .DS_STORE files as something malicious and should be deleted..you would think they would've learned by now..

That does not shock me in the least. Ran into it myself many times.

He mentioned he was running Lion so I imagine this is a Mac scanner. ;)

It doesn't surprise me however that a Windows scanner would since .DS_store files are binaries and would look completely foreign.

Well there's your problem. You are using MacKeeper, which pretty much is a virus(not quite, but malware) itself.
