Help!!!... I broke It!!

erm the story...

i was feeling good with myself so i decided to try and change the login screen on my OS X... it didnt work!

where the login screen should of been was just blank.

I Paniced and pressed a few buttons and now the thing wont load properly.

when the loding mac os bar comes up it fills then just stops

can i fix it without loosing all my data?

Leave it alone for a long period, like 30 minutes. There is a small possibility it it trying to fix it self.

If all looks lost, then you may have to remove the drive and have someone backup your user account(s) and data. But...

I've never had to do it, but i think you can reinstall the OS without losing data. There would be an option in the install program that does NOT include formatting the drive or destroying all data on the drive.

Oh. The disks that come with your Mac has a recovery option too I beleive. Again, I've never tried that.
