Can someone recommend a good generic pdf writer that I print the output of my different application software to? I've searched the web, but none seem obvious as good examples I would want to spend $$ on. Thanks - MacNewby

Yeah - the built-in one is great!

Take safari for example: Hit Apple+P to print the current webpage. In the lower bottom corner of the print box you should see a button labeled 'PDF'.

Click on it and select 'Save as PDF'.

You can do this from ANY OS X print dialogue.

If you weren't aware of the built-in "print to PDF" function in Mac OS X, well, surprise and yay! It works from almost any "Print" screen.

If you were aware of it and it's not meeting your current needs, please tell us a little more about what kind of output it's not working for. In other words, what further capability do you require?

Now we know why I'm tagged as MacNewby. :dummy: Having just migrated from the 'blue screen of death' environment I've much to learn. You're right, surprise, I just saved $50 or $80 on a pdf program (probably the same on a virus protection program too) :)

Thanks for being charitable to the new guy. - MacNewby
