Hi there -

I bought a LaCie 500gb hard drive in 2007 when I had a PC and used it until I got my Mac. I've connected it to my Mac and it doesn't recognize the device at all. I no longer have my PC, so I can't transfer files or burn disks from the hard drive. What can I do to use this hard drive on my Mac without potentially losing everything on it? Your sage advice is appreciated!

First, your post was moved to the proper forum - here.

When you say the LaCie is not recognized at all... does it mount on the desktop? Or can you see it if you open Disk Utility? It may be formatted to NTFS, however, it still should mount. As far as saving data on it, if it's formatted to NTFS you will need a special driver loaded in OS X in order to write to the drive and save the data from it.
