I connect via wireless to my time capsule and use time machine to backup my iMac. Im running the latest version of Lion and its a 2nd generation Time Capsule. At the moment TM has 22G to back up its at 200Mb after about 4 hours. I have no idea what speed to expect but surely its gotta be better than this. I connect to the internet for my iMac via wireless and speed is excellent.
