I have a mid 2011 iMac and i have an extra SDHC 8GB card laying around, i was wondering if i can re format it to journaled because i have a 6GB movie that i would like to put on it (cant do it because its in FAT32 format). Is it possible to re format it to journaled or anything else so i can put large files on it?

Sure. Just use Disk Utility to reformat it to HFS+. As long as the SD card mounts on your desktop you can format it using Disk Utility.
