my powermac G5 always have kernal panics

im new to mac and just brought one the dual 2ghz powermac g5, apparently it always hang with the log crash:

i don't know what it is, but lately i installed a pc kingston ram 2 X 512mb
does it effect my mac or any recommend one for mac with is less expensive?????

yea thats your problem the ram, take it back and get some crucial ram, the mac are really choosey about the ram they use so its more than likely the cause of your problem

hi

before i install that pc ram, i use to have the same kind of ram installed in my mac(same brand same a pc ram), but it seem ok, even i heavy load it with after effects and FCP 5.0??

Also can i mix the pc ram with the apple ram?
(both kingston brand)

ram isnt specific to mac and pc, ram is ram.

also with regards to adding different stick of it, im pretty sure that they have to be matched pairs to work 100%
