the PS1 motherboard wouldn't work anyway, becuase it doesn't support hard drives, has limited ram, and not high video output quality.

I guess you could gut the thing entirely, taking out all of the internal components of the PlayStation, leaving only the casing itself...then put PC parts in it... at least in theory.
But yeah, why the heck would you want to???
Other than the novelty factor, I see no reason to do so.

i beilieve that the original PS 1 is big enough to fit components in to it.
