iMovie overlapping?

I'm making movies on iMovie now, but want to try and do some overlapping.
She does it in this video CLICK HERE at 0:07 and I was wondering if you could help me do it!!

You can't do that in iMovie.

Yup...you can do it...sort of..Put your camera on a tripod..do not move it! Film your first sequence with one person...then film your next sequence with another person. When your done...import the clips to iMovie...Lay down one clip...place the second clip ON TOP of the first...You will get a drop down box...choose ( not at my Mac...I think it says cutaway ). Then adjust the opacity of the clip until they both become visible...

Hmm...yes it does, sort of. Hadn't thought of that.
