I'm thinking this may be it for my '06 MacBook Pro. When I start it up I get immediate squiggly diagonal lines and then a blue screen and from there it won't boot up. It's happened once before so I powered down and removed the battery for a minute or two......started it back up and it was fine BUT not this time. I also noticed the underside near the back of the keyboard was hotter than usual.

Does anyone have any suggestions or should I just go to the Apple store and buy a new 13" MBP?

Sounds like it could either be the GPU or the logic board is failing. Seeming that your MacBook Pro is from '06, I don't really think it's worth to dump a good $500 into it, in my opinion. It might be time to let this one go to "Apple Heaven."
