Hi guys. I have a 2010 MacBook Pro. It has been working fine until yesterday. Yesterday I was watching a movie and suddlenly I noticed someone controlling my mouse and clicking all kinds of apps I had. I got so scared I forced a shut down! I tried changing comp pass, email pass, other stuff off line but it still got hacked today. I did notice however in my email a ton of failure messages sent that I never sent. May you please help me stop it? Should I wipe hard drive and re-install? Please help me. Thanks.

Have you given anyone remote access to your Mac? If not, make sure you use a strong password for your eMail account, and also strong encryption and password for your wireless connection. (use WPA2) Make sure all sharing is turned off. Always use a logon password to gain access to your Mac.

If you want to continue getting help...being a bit more polite will go a long way!:)

"chscag's" main message was...use strong passwords and strong encryption. You mentioned nothing about the "strength" of your passwords in your original post!!!

What do you mean 'Wireless is strong' ? That's not normal parlance.

Sorry. I'm frustrated because I spent so much and now I can't even use it cause the mouse is being controlled. On top of that, my disk drive isn't working. It won't insert disks and I need to to wipe the hard drive :(

If you disconnect your computer from your router, then you are removing the ability to "hack" it. I'd start by doing that.

Ok, thanks. I did that. However, when I try to insert any disk the computer won't even load it at all. It just sits there not going in. How do I fix that?

I would advise dropping the battery out of your machine and re-fitting and rebooting... if all else fails take your MBP into a repair and diagnostics specialist or an Apple Genius Bar.
