Word freezing problems

Hi, My Word for Mac often freezes when I am working in a long document. I then have to Force Quit and open again until it reoccurs. Is this a memory or other problem, and is there a solution for it?

It could be a memory issue. How much memory do you have? How long is this document and does it contain a lot of non-text content (such as graphics)? What else do you have open at the same time?

4Gb loaded, just over 1 Gb free. It freezes even if there is nothing else open, and there are no graphics etc in the text. Could it still be a memory issue?
