Hi,
Forgive me if this has been covered already, I have looked elsewhere on the forum, and carried out general web searches but Im stumped now.
I took an old G4 power PC off a friends hands, so that I could have a little tinker with different OS (I don't want to do any damage to my macbook!) so I tried to install another OS, and in doing so I think I may have completely wiped out the whole system. I cant even remember what I actually did, but it involved the partitions, I thought I was wiping a separate partition that I created to install (Linux), cos i bottled out and started to get out of my depth.
so now when i turn the machine on i get a grey screen with an alternating world/file/question mark.

I dont have any install discs for this machine, so can I do anything to get it back to a usable state?

any help anyone can give would be so much appreciated.

It appears you may have accidentally wiped the hard drive or partition. Not much you can do without an install disk. That machine can probably run Tiger, however, a retail copy of Tiger may be difficult to find and possibly expensive. You can of course always install Linux on the machine if you so choose.
