How do I change my default browser from Mozilla/Firefox to Safari?

I feel like a dummy.............I would like to uninstall Mozilla/firefox which I apparently designated as the default browser when I first got the computer a few months ago. I would rather just use Safari, but can't seem to get rid of the Mozilla. Always had PC's.........but this is DIFFERENT! Any help would surely be appreciated!

Open up the Applications folder in Finder, find the Firefox icon and drag it to the trash, you've now "uninstalled" Firefox..

Now, open up Safari and if you indeed designated Firefox as the default browser, Safari will put up a prompt asking to become your default browser, say yes and you should be all set..

If Safari doesn't prompt you, go to Safari > Preferences > General > Default web browser.

*rant* I really wish Apple would put the default settings options in System Preferences and not in their own applications. Why do I have to open Safari to change the default web browser or Mail to change the default email reader? *end rant*

The free Preference Panel "Default Apps" does just that. I use it quite often.
