can't find migrated files

I've just bought an iMac, transferred files from my pc and although i can see them when i search using the spotlight it's saying i don't have access rights, and 'Brian's iMac' is not showing up at all in my finder window.

Did you set up an account and use said account BEFORE you did the migration assistant route? If so, your files have been set up as another user, since they can't be written to an account you're actually using at the time.

Look in your Users folder and see if there's any folders besides "shared" and your Home folder
