I would like to access my business network (2 macs & 1 PC) from my macbook while traveling on business. The current network has a Linksys RV042 router. I would also like to be able to log into the router remotely. I do not want to use logmein (or similar) for the individual computers but rather connect to the network remotely.

Closer than you think.
Your Mac's Specs
Performa 6116 2GBSCSI 8MB OS 7.5.3
You'll need to setup the VPN on the router and and connect. Check the vendor site for documentation for this.
You'll probably want to use an IP scope that is off the beaten path so when you're traveling you'll still be able to route no matter what DHCP IP you get.

Just be aware that it will be slow. Real slow.

Not knowing your existing infrastructure I would say that most likely there is a better way to do what you want. But you sound like you just want VPN.
