Moved a bunch of files, all jpgs, to the trash bin to delete them after saving them to a backup source. They were moved to the trash in the folder they were in. Everything deleted except the folder itself. When I try to delete the folder I get a message that states:

Can't be completed because of an unexpected error code (error code -50)

How do I fix this and delete the empty folder?

Try booting into safe mode and try doing it from there...

also are you sure that the error is -50? also what OS version are you using?

The error code is -50, and the OS version is 10.6.8.

Tried an old Windows trick and shut the computer down, waited a few minutes, and after the re-start the problem was fixed!?! Weird. Never tried a safe boot as this was before I saw your message, but thanks for the assistance,
