Greetings Mac Community,

Two weeks ago my powerbook hard drive crashed thus i bought a new hard drive to replace it. Right now I have a mini external case in which i plug in my old hard drive trying to rip data off. The hard drive will not recognize by my powerbook but it will on my PC. The problem with the PC is that it freezes my PC.

The hard drive is clicking. It is a hitachi 80gig 5200rpm.

My question is there any other ways in which i can mount the drive to pull the data off (it is currently in an external case), since the powerbook will not recognize the drive?

Any help would be greatly appreciated....

There's a good program out there called Spinrite that can extract data from dying drives. It's $80, but it's worth it if you need the data bad enough.
