The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) will seek “urgent relief” from the Federal Court today to stop Apple promoting its new iPad as 4G-capable.

The competition watchdog alleged that Apple's promotions of 4G support were misleading because the devices could not be used on Australian 4G networks.

Apple has offered to reimburse customers that believed they had been misled, according to a report by The Australian.

APPLE'S 4G iPads

It is due to the spectrum used by mobile network. Due to this APPLE'S 4G iPad devices is not able to use on Australian 4G networks.

APPLE'S 4G iPads only support the 700 MHz spectrum adopted by the AT&T and Verizon, whereas in Australia, Telstra is the only Mobile Network which offers 4G, and it uses 1800MHz Spectrum.
That's why ACCC sought “urgent relief” from the Federal Court to stop Apple promoting its new iPad as 4G-capable.

You'd think someone in the organization would've noticed that and stopped marketing the 4G aspect.

Corporate response (if unconditional as to use of product or time utilized on phone) is good.
