I'm downloading a 2.6 GB file from my desktop (at home) using my laptop (on campus) and it's really slow. I'm using team viewer and it is pegged at 80kb/s, this will take hours and hours. Is there another program that will transfer it quicker? I was thinking using cyberduck on my mac and some kind of free ftp software? Or just plain ssh into it? Any ideas or suggestions?

my laptop running Lion and the desktop at home is running Ubuntu, if that helps any

Way... way too many specs to list.
If you can ssh into it, you can scp to it. In which case, cyberduck works great (I use it all the time, and I'm completely down with the scp syntax). It should be faster, there's less overhead. How much faster, not sure.

What is your upload speed at home? Is it 768kbps? That would line up with ~80KB/s.
